The Period Social

The Period Social is a welcoming, creative workshop by The Period Crate exploring period poverty and menstrual inequality, and why access to period products, education, and support should never depend on someone’s circumstances.

Together, we’ll look at the realities of period poverty, from the rising cost of menstrual products and the impact on education, work, and everyday life to the wider inequalities surrounding menstrual health, stigma, and the dismissal of menstrual pain. We’ll explore who is most affected, why these barriers exist, and how communities, universities, and organisations can help create meaningful change. Through accessible education, myth-busting activities, open discussion, and our very own Menstrual Bingo, we’ll challenge misconceptions, share perspectives, and discover practical ways to support menstrual equity.

Every attendee will also receive a goodie bag containing a pack of period pads, an original menstrual health word search, and a printed copy of the presentation to take home.

Whether you’re passionate about social justice or simply want to understand the issue better, The Period Social offers a friendly, judgement-free space to learn, connect, and be part of the conversation around a fairer future for menstrual health.
