What Is Menstrual Mail?
Menstrual Mail is a monthly postal subscription from The Period Crate.
It’s designed as a more personal and thoughtful way to stay connected to the project and the community work your support helps make possible.
Each month, subscribers receive a physical letter sharing updates from The Period Crate, reflections from behind the scenes, community experiences, menstrual education, and small creative additions designed to be read slowly and kept.
Rather than constant scrolling and quick updates online, Menstrual Mail is intended to feel more tangible and intentional!
The Period Crate exists to make period products more accessible while encouraging more open, informed conversations around menstrual health and period poverty.
Menstrual Mail was created as an extension of that.
It allows supporters to stay closely connected to the project they’re helping fund while also creating space for education, reflection, creativity, and community storytelling.
Each edition is designed to feel informative, personal, and purposeful; offering a quieter and more thoughtful way to engage with the work we do.
Each edition includes:
- A printed letter with updates, reflections, and insights from The Period Crate
- Real, anonymous community experiences and stories
- Simple, accessible menstrual health education that explains an area of menstruation, menstrual poverty or menstrual health
- A menstrual myth-busting card, explaining a truth behind a commonly misinformed area of menstruation
- Recommendations for further reading, documentaries, articles, and research
- A small rotating add-on such as journalling pages, bingo cards, menstrual menus, word searches and more
Your subscription directly supports The Period Crate and helps us continue stocking free period products across our locations, maintain existing crates, and expand into new community spaces.

Letters are shipped on the 1st of each month.
The cut-off date for each edition is the 10th of the previous month.
If you subscribe after the 10th, your first letter will be sent in the following month.
Your subscription will renew automatically each month unless cancelled.
